What would you like to do?
So it’s about that time of year when we do our Spring Volunteer Event. Last year we went bowling. It was good fun. What you like to do this year?
bowling, putt putt, movie night at the church? Any other suggestions?

How about doing an Open Mic Night at BBCC? You got so many talented folks on the Production team… let ’em play! I would propose:
1. Send an email to the team and see who would be interested in performing and give them a 10-15 minute slot.
2. Have them show up about 1 hour before “show time” to work out logistics, get set up, get a mix, etc.
3. Do an “American Idol” meets open mic thing by letting the audience vote on their favorite (or have a judge’s panel) and have a prize for who wins.
4. You could also kick it up a notch by giving all performers a CD with a board mix of their performance (or even run a camera and give them a DVD…whoa!).
I think it would be super cool (and even somewhat educational) to try out the other side of the signal chain! Besides, I KNOW that we have some killer musicians on the team and would personally like to hear them.

Doug, that is an awesome idea, of course you do not want me to sing……..that is why I am the guy behind the camera

Chris & I are in for whatever – we’re game. Movie doesn’t allow for getting to know people…but that’s really only for us 😉 .

How about a water balloon toss, a three-legged sack race, a blind-folded basketball game…. Wait a second, having some bad childhood memory flashbacks of “family day” at the old Baptist church growing up. Boy, dad sure was heavy when the 3-legged sack race turned into a ghastly crash. I think I need to go find my therapist’s number.
So what were we talking about again?

How about getting together to do a service project for the community? Ideas:
Make videos for Hospice people to leave for their family
Do our own version of Oprah’s Big Give…everyone pitch in and compete for the best Big Give idea. Winner gets copy of the video.
Work for a day at one of the non-profits in Cumming.
Endless possibilities, really.
What do ya think?
(I stink at bowling!)

That’s a good idea. I’ll talk with the team and see what we can come up with.
