Hey Guys,

We have been super busy preparing for the Good Friday Service! If you can make it….it will be pretty awesome! We will be taking communion and the emphasis of the evening will be to remember what Christ did on this day over 2000 years ago!

We will have two services, one at 5:30 PM and one at 7:00 PM. Waumba will be provided at the 5:30 service only. We would love to have ya there!

Sunday Shout Out 3.16.08

Posted in Volunteerism on March 18, 2008 by supportcreativity

You guys are amazing! Really, you are! For those of you who don’t know, we decided to change things up a little at the Double B and had Steve leading by himself on acoustic. I really had no idea of what to expect from our attendees since we have never done something like this before, but it was an amazing morning! People singing loud, familiar songs stripped down, and Steve leading us and engaging the audience as only Steve can!

The shout out for this week goes to the whole video team! What beautiful execution you guys had with a completely different feel! Kerry, Ken, Chris, Joseph, and Nathan – way to kill imag! Every time Kerry took that camera 4 shot of Nathan’s I almost wet myself because it looked SO GOOD. Rich, the shading was spot on! Ken, Kristen and Paul – way to own CG/Pro/Playback/PC Live, just a perfect flow this morning!

Do you know what I loved the most this morning? Volunteers in EVERY SEAT! And you OWNED it! Chris was out of town, Ryan was shooting baptisms and I was just taking everything in (thank God nothing went wrong in video world, cause Lord knows I probably can’t fix it) – it was good to know Merritt was TD – He’s a genius. Ansley – it sounded perfect!

Another huge win for me – the second week in a row with one of my guys programming! Mickey, seriously, sometimes it is harder to learn taste with slow sets and you nailed it spot on. It was absolutely beautiful!

I/We can never say thank you enough to how much you guys pour into your roles here. Let us know if there is anything we can do for YOU!

PS – Sorry I’m a day late on this, we are gearing up for a HUGE week here with Good Friday and Easter, keep checking back every monday for the shout out of the week!

3D Andy

So as most of you know, Andy was live at the Browns Breezy yesterday.  I really am surprised that nobody came up and told us how great the High Def looked this week. On a more serious note, I really thought that our crew this Sunday held it down.  Most of them didn’t know Andy was going to be there until they walked in that morning.  Everybody stepped up including Richard Wunderlich on camera 1, Keith Holland on camera 2,  Kevin Sharpley on camera 3, Ken Frost on CG, Ken Fisher shading and leading the team through the morning was Kerry Rogan in the directors chair.  Don’t get me wrong, everyone else did a great job, but these guys had to stay on all morning and did a great job.  I know that there were a few who were nervous early in the morning.  I hope that you guys now know that you CAN do it, and you did with excellence.  Great job!———————–Shove

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward 1 hour this Sunday for daylight saving time. Aren’t you excited….now that 6:30 am call time will feel like 5:30! Ouch! We’ll be sure to get the coffee going early!

New FOH and Monitor Sofware!

Posted in Audio on March 4, 2008 by Chris

Hey Audiophiles!

Just wanted to keep you up to date on the consoles. We are now on Version 2.6.3.1. You can download the stand alone software from the digi site or pick it up from me the next time you are at the church. I don’t think there is anything too huge to be aware of. Just realize there might be compatibility issues if you work on your show from home and are not the same version.

Sunday Shoutout

What a great day we had yesterday! Everything looked killer and ran smoothly and was made even better by the homemade the peanut butter and chocolate oatmeal cookies brought in by Susan Whitt. Susan works as a stage manager and her husband Rusty is a backstage manager and I love how pour so much into their positions and do them so well. Susan and Rusty are always on their game as our own stage crew couple, but then she has to go and make my stomach happy as well. Well done guys! You rock!

Here’s a set pic from a couple weeks ago…

Roaming Shove

Posted in Video, Volunteerism with tags on March 3, 2008 by Shove

So yesterday I ran roaming camera (5) for the first time in a long time.  Usually I am either sitting in the directors seat or somewhere in the control, not behind a camera.  I have a whole new perspective for you guys who are crawling all over the stage getting the money shots for the guitar solo or that big drum fill in All Because of Jesus.  I haven’t looked at the second service, but based on the first one, I did not have a stellar performance. Somebody who I was really impressed by was Troy Kimmes.  For those of you who don’t know, the video team watches the first service just minutes after coming off the deck back in the review room.  We do this to fix mistakes, praise successes, and get better for the next service. After watching all of Troy’s shots, I gotta say, he gets the MVP award for this past Sunday in the Video Category.  Everything was in perfect exposure, focus, and composition.  He gave a variety of shots and was consistent all morning long.  Great job Troy.
